Heather Evans - Director

Dip. LCD (Distinction); RAD Teacher Certificate (Distinction); FATD Elementary (Honours with Distinction)

Heather Evans graduated from the LONDON COLLEGE OF DANCE in 1989 with a Diploma in dance teaching.  Since graduating Heather has enjoyed many successful years teaching both in the UK and Australia, choreographing performances and entering students for examinations in classical ballet, jazz and tap. Heather is a registered syllabus teacher with the Australasian Dance Association (ADA) and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) gaining Distinction level passes in practical and theoretical and teaching examinations. 

Heather has a passion and very special talent for teaching the very young. Heather enjoys working with her students and preparing them for their own examinations, where there has always been a 100% pass rate. She holds a First Aid Certificate.

Sally Reid

Associate Diploma (Jazz and Tap); Reg. FATD Teacher

Sally first started dancing at the age of 6 and has been trained in jazz, tap and drama. During her time as a student Sally participated in Jazz and Tap Examinations with the FATD and has performed in concerts, eisteddfods, award days and community events around Sydney. She has also been involved with Hip Hop, Jazz and Funk classes at Sydney Dance Company under the tuition of Ramon Doringo.

Sally is a registered syllabus teacher with the Federal Association of Teachers of Dancing (FATD) gaining Honours level passes in practical, theoretical and anatomy teaching examinations with the FATD.  Sally has been awarded her Associate Diploma in Jazz and Tap and has completed all practical examinations through to Advanced.

Sally loves to choreograph and prepare students for exams and concert performances.  Sally holds a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Science, Macquarie University and a First Aid Certificate.

Mala Sudbury

Mala began her RAD Ballet training and learnt Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Modern dance and Musical Theatre at local dance schools on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.   Mala performed in concerts and many Eistedffords whilst training and she studied HSC Dance as an elective and achieved great results.

After high school, Mala completed a full-time Diploma course at Dance World Studios in Melbourne, where she trained for a further 3 years in Dance, Acting and Singing, graduating in 2008.
Mala has danced professionally in various fields including 2 Song Cybershot television commercials, touring to New Zealand, Perth and Sydney for show cases and mid-year performances, Lara Croft Sudden Impact Experience and being a featured dancer at Chesty Tstzyu's media release.

Mala’s passion is choreography and as a result the students dance wonderful pieces at the end of year concert ranging in styles from hip-hop to contemporary.

Stephanie Saunders

Steph began dancing at the age of three and has since cultivated a lifelong passion for the performing arts. She has trained at HEDS since 2010, excelling in ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical. Her foundational training in ballet saw her complete RAD exams from Grade 1 to Intermediate Foundation, while her tap training culminated in achieving Honours and Honours with Distinction from ADA Grade 5 through to Gold Star. Currently, she continues to develop her skills in jazz and lyrical at HEDS.

Steph has also competed in her high school dance team, participating in competitions such as IRBD. She has also travelled internationally to tour Los Angeles in 2019 and 2024, with performances at iconic venues like Disneyland and Universal Studios with HEDS.

Outside the studio, Steph is pursuing a Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Technology Sydney, balancing her passion for dance with her ambition to support others in healthcare.

Rachel Bolt

Rachel’s love for dance began at the age of 4 and she has trained in ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary. She has completed her jazz examinations with the ADA up to Bar to Star and has completed ballet exams with RAD completing her Advanced 1 in 2023. Rachel has also completed Discovering Repertoire level 3 and Grade 8 Award for Girls. Rachel has also taken class at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Broadway Dance Centre in New York, ALDC LA and performed in Disneyland.

Rachel has developed a love and dedication to teaching students and helping them to achieve their best. Rachel has completed her ADA Intermediate Teaching qualification in jazz achieving honours with distinction and Pre-Elementary teaching qualification in ballet also receiving honours with distinction.

Rachel has completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Performing Arts Industries: Dance, Theatre and Creativity. In 2023 Rachel completed matwork pilates certification and holds a current first aid and working with children check.


Ashleigh Clark

Ashleigh's love for dance began at the age of three, and her dedication to the art form has shaped her into a versatile performer and teacher. Over the years, she has honed her skills in classical ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary dance. 

Throughout her training, Ashleigh completed Royal Academy of Dance examinations from Primary to Intermediate and Grade 8 where she achieved distinctions and credits. During Ashleigh's schooling; she was selected for Sydney North Dance groups, Rock Eisteddfod teams, school musicals, and studied dance as an elective. Her passion for performance led her to exciting opportunities, including the chance to perform in iconic locations like Disneyland LA, Universal Studios, and Hollywood Boulevard in 2017 and 2019 with H.E.D.S USA Dance Tours. 

In addition to her performance achievements, Ashleigh is a qualified dance educator, having completed her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management from Transit Dance in 2020. Her approach to teaching is rooted in creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student feels encouraged to achieve their personal best. 

Ashleigh also holds a Bachelor of Social Science and Sociology from Macquarie University, giving her a deep understanding of the diverse needs of her students. She is certified in First Aid, ensuring a safe and nurturing space for all dancers to thrive.
